God is realigning me to my purpose. It’s not always easy, but we must learn to submit ourselves to the Lord. If you grasp this early, your life will flow much more smoothly than mine.

My Realignment Story

The Trinity is 3-In-One…

I have a relationship with the Trinity three in one, and I have a relationship with them separately and individually. They all have individual characteristics.

When we veer off the path God has planned for us, He gently redirects our steps. It might not be something bad, and you may not be sinning. You might not be doing anything wrong, but if it’s not what God wants for you, He will lead you elsewhere.

Since 1999, I have been actively involved in online business. I’ve had times where I’ve done quite well in it. It wasn’t as much as some others earned, but it still provided a nice full-time income from home.

I’ve always been able to get a job without any trouble. I’ve always been able to get employment fairly easily, yet, all of my life, the Lord has told me to write for Him.

This journey started for me as a little kid. I experimented with writing little stories, and as a teenager, I continued by writing short stories and poetry. I’ve been published in, I think it was, about four or five poetry books. I kept them for a while, but over the years, I lost them all. The poems weren’t positive, so I’m not too worried about losing them.

It’s important to do what God wants me to do. I do not want to just focus on making money, which has always been my focus. I figure if I’m doing what He wants me to do, the blessings will follow.

Do His Will and The Blessing Will Come

There are a lot of places in Scripture where God tells us through His Word that there are ramifications to our obedience or lack of it. Pride always comes before a fall.

The things we are prideful of tend to be taken away from us. On the same side, the things we judge others about can come onto us.

But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.” ~ Matthew 6:33 Amplified

It’s so important to seek after His kingdom and the character of God FIRST. We need to understand that walking with the right attitude and His righteousness, which is being in the right standing with God, will help us so much in our lives.

This should be done in our everyday lives.

As someone from my church says, “God is the full meal deal. Our spouse is to be the cake and ice cream.”

So, our spouse, family, and friends aren’t supposed to be the full-meal deal for us. They are to be the sweet bonus or gifts in our lives. God, and only God, is to be our everything.

Every single day, we’re supposed to seek Him first and foremost in our everyday lives.

I wasn’t doing that. For most of my life, I was walking in control of my own life and my well-being. I guess I didn’t truly see God as my everything and my provider.

That was a hard pill to swallow.

I had to get very real with myself and take a deep look at my level of submission and obedience.

For the last 12 years, the Lord has been calling me to create YouTube videos for Him. Just typing this out, I feel so self-conscious and ridiculous.

If you take a look at my YouTube channel, you can see mainly videos regarding online business and a little about the Lord. Not much, though. I also stop doing the videos for months at a time.

I’ve gotten tired and sick, and that makes it difficult, but it’s mainly because I don’t want to be scrutinized by my family, friends, and strangers who don’t even know me.

The thing about God is that He isn’t too concerned for our emotional or spiritual comfort. He is more concerned about our growth and maturity in Him.

He doesn’t ask the qualified to do things most usually. Instead, He calls those of us who would rather do anything else, using it to stretch and grow us while simultaneously advancing the Kingdom of God.

Just Submit Already!

I’ve been fighting this for most of my life. I have kind of run from it like Moses did.

One of the things He’s using to realign me is my employment. I had a full-time online job for almost 13 years in technical support, and I loved it. I loved the people I worked with and the owners of the company.

The owners had to sell it due to financial struggles, and the new owners not only gave me a raise but also promoted me into marketing as a customer success manager. It was wonderful!

Then one day they let me go. Again, due to financial issues, but the reasons didn’t help my finances at all.

After an entire year of looking, I was finally hired by another online company. I was underqualified, but the Lord allowed me to get it. I begged Jesus for that job. It sounded so fun. He truly blessed me with it.

Not every open door is something God wants to keep in our lives. Sometimes, it is only here for a moment to bless us, teach us, and grow us.

I was let go from that job, and I still haven’t even been called for an interview. I have applied to thousands of jobs that I am very qualified for. The closed doors have forced me to take a close look at why.

The Preparation for Change

I was being prepared for two weeks before I was let go. Holy Spirit had told me it was going to happen.

The closer relationship you have with the Lord, the more you will start hearing Him. Your heart will start hearing Him by feeling and sensing Him. You will hear Him through your thoughts. Talk to him during the day like a friend.

That’s how we’re to communicate with the Lord. It’s not just a once-a-week, once-a-month, or even a once-a-day prayer—it’s a continuous, daily connection with God.

Continuously communicate with Holy Spirit. If you’ve given your heart to Jesus, the Holy Spirit resides in you.

If you feel hesitation or if something just doesn’t feel right, the Holy Spirit is likely talking to you. The Lord does not yell at you most of the time.

That’s because, in my opinion, He is training us to hear Him quickly and clearly in vital situations.

His Word Directs

Jesus showed me a verse that reminded me that I was to speak for Him.

One was Jeremiah 5:5: “I will go to the great [men] And speak to them, For they [must] know the way of the Lord, The ordinance of their God.”

Another was Mark 13:11: When they take you and turn you over [to the court], do not worry beforehand about what to say, but say whatever is given to you [by God] in that hour; for it is not you who speak, but it is the Holy Spirit [who will speak through you].

My favorite versions of the Bible are The Message and the Amplified.

Then, out of the blue, my son comes into my bedroom this morning, sits down, and says, “Hey Mom, how are you doing on those videos God’s been telling you to do?”

 I was like, “Umm… I haven’t been.”

Then he asks, “Aren’t you supposed to obey the Lord when He tells you to do something?”

Well, yes, son, you most certainly are. Dang!

What a confirmation that was…

Then he told me to just make one today and not worry about making it perfect. Just do it…

So, I did. Honestly, I’m not happy with the audio or visual quality; I hate how I look; I sound like a hick most of the time, and on and on.

I’m trying to get in alignment with what God wants me to do; that’s what I feel that the Lord wants me to do.

If you’re finding that doors are being closed to you, begin to seek out the Lord to see where He wants you to be. Ask Him what He’s calling you to do. It may not be something you’re comfortable with. Just like this. I am not at all comfortable with doing these videos.

I have fought it for about 12 years now. That’s a long time. So, here we go! :)
